Hinds County Circuit Judge Tomie Green ruled Monday there will be no change in conditions for the four convicted murderers pardoned by former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour until a hearing on February 3rd.
In what I can only believe is another "keep 'em in prison" political ploy Hind County Circuit Judge Tomie Green blocked the release from Mississippi prisons of 21 inmates. These 21 individuals were still serving time when their pardons was announced. The injunction was issued after State Attorney General Hood filed a lawsuit seeking the injunction citing that the individuals did not meet the constitutional requirement of publishing notice of heir request for clemency in newspapers from the area in which the crimes were committed.
