Bill for Parole Overhaul Progresses
The Massachusetts bill which will overhaul state sentencing and parole guidelines was passed by the MA Senate last week but is not expected to reach the House until sometime in January.
Among other provisions, the bill would ban parole in Massachusetts for criminal who have been convicted three times for violent felonies.
Naturally, the politicians are interested in passing this bill since it will get them favorable press coverage while allowing the bills on gambling and pension overhauls to move at a far slower pace.
